Question by crankystar: How can someone quit heroine for good?
My sister was a heroine user for about 5 years. She is now taking a substitute called “Subutex”. But it seems that people who use the substitue drug are ‘stuck’ with it. How can someone truly let go of the drug?? I am aware that many rehab facilities are there to help people, but in France, like anywhere else I guess, it can be pretty expensive to enter a private facility. If you want to enter other ‘free’ facilities, there is a waiting list, and there is absolutely NO guarantee that you will be accepted for treatment. Can anyone suggest a step-by-step sort of program? Guidelines? Advice? A book dealing on a specific step-by-step program? Please do not tell me to send her to a rehab center. I am currently looking at a center that would be free of charge to her, but in case she is not accepted, I need to know what we could do to help her by ourselves. I thank all my fellow yahoo users in advance for any useful tips and help.
PS: I want my sister to get out of it, as much as she wants it. She is highly motivated.

Question by BJ: How screwed up can you get by using drugs?
After the first time one of my closest friends used drugs it seems like he immidiately got addicted cause now almost everyday he trys to buy some and got all A’s. I mean im not ever going to use or even try drugs because they way i see it when i become a parent i dont want to be a hypocrite by telling my kids to use it when i did plus i dont want to screw up my life

Question by John H: Has anybody else ever become addicted to the drug, ultram(tramadol), how did you kick it?
This stuff is billed as a non-narcotic, but i can tell you, it is VERY addictive. I simply cannot function without it. I take about 15 50mg pills a day. I am certain i am going to have to go to detox. It is also becoming VERY expensive. Nobody seems to deal with this drug in the addiction circle. What is the answer? Weaning? Methadone? N/A? I must stress, this is more than i psycholigical addiction. When i do not take this medication, i feel like death. My muscles tense, i cant breathe, i get a migraine headache, and i become suicidal depression wise. I simply cannot function without it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone…I am 16 and I have a secret that I am not proud of and want help but will not be going to the doctor or rehab.I have been taking 2 Oxycontin and 2 Methadone,sometimes 3 of each,Every.Single.Day,for 4 Years,almost 5.I am not sure of the Mg….but I want to get off of them,every single fact I have ran into has said 1 week for detox….and I have tried to before,but I am not strong enough,is there anyway I can reduce if not stop the withdrawing?Please….someone help me….I also dont want ANYONE saying “Go to rehab,or the doctor” Replay quickly please,I am trusting everyone.
