Does Anyone Think This Is in the Best Intrest of My Children?

Question by Loni M: Does anyone think this is in the best intrest of my children?
My ex is fighting for equal time “shared custody” of our children. Our daughters are 11 and 9. I left him about 6 years ago due to his drug addiction which he is currently getting help for by taking methadone treatments daily. He has been diagnosed and is treated for Psychizofrenia, Bipolar, and Obsessive-Compulsive disorders. I have been convicted of a minor misdemeanor for a domestic dispute between him and I over 2 years ago. He has filed for social security due to his mental inability to work. I am a full time college student (will graduate with my Associates Degree in Science transfer in Psychology this time next year). He lives with his mother in a nice house, I rent a house. The Guardian Ad Litem has made a reccomendation in his favor giving him “equal time” with our children. My concerns are if he is incapable of working, can he care for our children? Also, what if he forgets to, or feels he dosen’t need to take his medication while our children are in his care?
jazzfan I got into an argument with my ex AFTER the seperation. In the state of Ohio you do not need to live with the person to be convicted of a Domestic Dispute. I do not appretiate your sceptic assumptions, I have told the good and bad of both sides.
