Ok Shannon, I appreciate the honesty of your question now I will give you a good to the best of my own personal knowledge and experience answer. I started using opiates when I was 18 and decided to quit when I was 20. I started off with taking one Vicodin or Percocet a day and eventually moved up to 2 Oxy 80’s a day. When loot became scarce, I started to buy heroin which was cheaper at ten bucks a bag and could get fcked up and dip out for less money. Well, after snorting it for awhile my tolerance built up to where I had to shoot it. My family had an intervention and I went down to Florida for rehab(insurance covered it until it ran out). My first night of detox was hell as I had nothing in my system for at least 24 hours. When you use opiates for an extended period of time, it goes into your bones. So with nothing my first night of detox my legs were inso much pain and I felt like I wanted to jump out of my skin, I tore metal bars off a window in the detox with my bare hands begging to get something. Well, the next day, the RN gave me Subutex and that took the edge off UNTIL I left detox. Then it took at least 2 full weeks for all withdrawls to disappear. I stuck it out, got out of rehab and relapsed. This time around, I only used for 6 months, but I got on Soboxen, which greatly helped me for 4 years. I am now drug free, off Soboxone, and go to NA and AA meetings two times a week. DO NOT BUY OR GO ON METHADONE. It is a never ending nightmare as my friend who I have known since childhood is hooked for life, he is worse on it then he was on Oxy’s or H. Your best bet would be to come clean to your family and tell them your addiction. I know its hard but that’s what family is for and they should not want you to suffer, show them my post if it will help. Then maybe, they can get you a “Don’t miss work Don’t miss school detox” on a doctor who can provide you with Soboxone. That is YOUR BEST BET. If not, you can withdraw yourself without help, and I won’t lie. It is painful but a couple nights without sleep is better than six feet below ground. Either way, you are Divine Human. You can get off that sheet, life can only get better once you get clean. Getting honest with your family is your best bet. See where that takes you. Goodluck and Godspeed on your recovery.
