The best way – with no or minimal withdrawals – is a medically supervised taper through your clinic… Have you seen a general practitioner about these other symptoms? I’m afraid something else might be going on because in 50 years of methadone maintenance treatment there is absolutely no research or studies that indicate methadone itself causes any of those things… A good place for info & support for methadone patients is NAMA Recovery’s Forums “We Speak Methadone (and buprenorphine)”… You can find other patients who have tapered successfully there. Please see a general practitioner/family doctor for some bloodwork in the meantime & talk to your clinic’s medical director about all of this as well! Good luck.
