Adderall and Klonopin?
Question by Land Puma: Adderall and Klonopin?
Hello Everyone,
I have a problem with my legs and can never stop moving them. I mean its only when I am sitting. I was thinking restless leg syndrome and the doctor thought so as well. He has me on 1mg Klonopin and have been taking that for about 6 months now. It works for about 20 min and then my legs go nuts again. However, I took one of my buddies Adderall because he takes it to get all wired and do homework but it did the opposite effect on me. When I took the Adderall I was really relaxed and my legs did not move. I didn’t know what to make of it so I decided to post on here. I don’t want to tell my doctor ” O yeah me and my buddy swapped pills and his adderall actually clammed me down when he said it was going to keep me up.” Just want to know if this is even true that adderall could clam you in the first place and what to tell my doctor if it actually works.

B/c of bad heroin & they only care about getting high, not the after effects. Getting a fix is #1 priority, they believe they can’t be helped nor do they care..it’s all about the next hit. also if they get anything pills, whatever they will take that too b4 & after the heroin…most don’t over does on purpose & most do it by mistake. So many death associated w/this drud was classified as a suicide & that’s simple not true..also some was meant to commit suicide & was classified as overdose. I guess it’s true in any case so it really doesn’t matte b/c to allow ones self to feel the need to use & have it all the time…is to be suicidal.

That’s a surprisingly common pattern, and I dare say methadone clinics are nothing but money making machines for many of their patients. There are methadone users who’ve been “in treatment” for decades. All that to say, some people genuinely intend to utilize it for weaning off and away from opioids. An ethical treatment center would call her on her misuse, but since it’s often part of the addiction, kicking her out would also be the wrong thing to do.

Why Do Doctors Call People Patients?
Question by Kathy Miller: Why do doctors call people patients?
Is it because they expect us to be patient as we sit in the waiting rooms staring blankly at the walls closing in on us as they rake in as many people as they can, upping their hourly take?

Sorta, patients has two meanings, one to BE patient… a verb, and the other is to be A patient…. a noun
Answer by Aubrie Hounjet
A paitent means a person that is under medical care, or that undergoes some action. so they say that because they dont know there names and its easier then saying, I need to help my next person that undergoes some action and needs medical care.
Seeking Advice for a More Effective Painkiller?
Question by Michael: Seeking advice for a more effective painkiller?
I am approximately 4 months into treatment for a Herniated L5 disc. From what I’ve been told by my PCP after getting an MRI is that my disc is bulging directly into my S1 nerve root and leaking fluid on to it. which has been excruciatingly painful in both my lower back and all the way down my right leg. The pain is relentless, I am in pain just about 24 hours a day 7 days a weeks. There is a very small window in which my pain even slightly subsides and thats when I’m laying down with an icepack on my back. So of course I spend as much time as possible icing the spot looking for even slight relief. After my Dr got back the results of my MRI, she prescribed me 60 mg of methadone a day and up to 6 hydrocodone 7.5/325mg daily for “breakthrough pain”. Within 3 days I went back to her to tell her that the methadone was doing absolutely nothing to help with my pain and If I took 2 of the hydrocodone at a time they would give me barely 45 minutes of very very minimal relief. I explained to her that I did not want to be taking that many pills a day just for a very small amount of relief and suggested we try something different. This time she prescribed me Fentanyl patches 50 mcg and more hydrocodone. She explained to me that the Fentanyl patches would provide good pain relief for up to 72 hours, and so I would not need to use the hydrocodone as often even though it was barely doing anything but at the same time doing the most out of anything I had been prescribed. I am on my second Fentanyl patch at this point and up to this point it has done zero to releve any pain. To me it feels no different than if I had simply stuck a piece fo scotch tape to my skin. After it was first prescribed I did a good amount of research on the Fentanyl patch. Many people of the forums I read stated the patch simply did not stick to the skin very well, and in not properly adhering to the persons skin the patch virtually becomes ineffective. After reading up on these potential problems I made sure I was much more careful and thorough when applying the second patch. That was yesterday and I have still not gotten a minute of relief from this patch which is supposed to be very effective. I have Dr friend who is currently not praticing, he suggested I ask my PCP about Dilaudid. Doc told me Dilaudid is very strong and is not a long acting drug and she didn’t seem to keen on prescribing it. Does anyone know of any medications out there that would help me be more comfortable until I have my surgery which will hopefully help me put this whole nightmare behind me ???
