Anyone know anything about methadone treatment?
Hi.i am just curious of others experiences. My husband and I have been on methadone for a year now. at a local methadone treatment center in our area. We have 3 kids. and our lives have improoved 9483 % since treatment. we been together a total of 5 years and the first 3 were nothing but insance drug abuse. herione,pills,oxy'... crack cocaine we said enoughs enough and went into treatment without looking back, even moved to get away from drug dealers to advoid some temptations.My ? is tho, how long do u think I should stay in recovery? Im scared to be there " Forever" ...but i dont thikn im ready to come out yet. I still go thru withdrawn some in the A.m. before my dose.It has saved our relationship and family.this clinic. so im glad for that. but can it do more harm then good in the long run? should we get into counceling? any one with any info im all ears i kno what the ppl say at the clinic, My dr. and nurses and stuff. But i would like real like experiances

My cousin is a drug addict and is on methadone treatments?
My cousin is a major drug addict and is trying to get off of heroine so they are giving her methadone treatments. My family was just told that my cousins money is running out now to still recieve her methadone injections and that if she doesnt get the money to still take her methadone treatments then she is going to die. I know nothing about drugs or understand any of it so if my cousin can not get the money to pay for her injections will she really die and why will this cause her too die? My mother is the one who told me this and dont know alot of information on all of this or why they say she could die from this so if someone knows any information on any of this please let me know. Im really worried about my cousin now so could this really be true? Could she really die?

t? My son went in for pain management and within one week he was dead. On that particular weekend, that hospital had 5 methadone overdoses. He was 23 yrs. young.

My best friend might be going away to a correctional facility and is on methadone treatment and has came a very long way in her recovery. I heard it's the law but they don't do it anyway. I am scared my bff will have severe withdrawls and maybe go back to using. I will state I live in New Hampshire because laws vary from state to state. If anyone has info that would be so appreciated. Thanks for all of your advice, but, I'm not the one on methadine treatment. It's my friend and since he's been on it he seems more irritable and testy than he used to.He doesn't think he's more irritable b c of it, he doesn't think he's changed at all, other than the usual physical side effects. He says his depression is from his job. He's on maintenence for addiction. He has another friend who's on it, too, and this man is also really irritable. I've been told this man wasn't irritable before he began methadone treatment.

Does anyone know what the actual side effects of methadone treatment for pain pill addiction are?
My boyfriend has been taking methadone for pain pill addiction since Nov 2007. He has transfered clinics and I am glad he has because the first clinic was a joke they gave you as much as you wanted even if you would fail the drug tests. This new clinic as far as he tells it won't allow you to go over a certain dose and you can't keep failing the drug tests. What I am wondering is does anyone know if methodone makes people go go go and then crash or make people believe that everyone is against them and very irritable? Sometimes I feel like I am walking on eggshells anytime I open my mouth. Please does anyone have any insight?

anyone else been on this? i m only on for 2 months,went from 40 dose to now 70 dose. i was severly addicted to oxycontin n percocets, ruining my liver n kidneys. i know i was so stupid n loserish to get in this situation. but i would love advice, help, on what this dose is good, when should i start to lessen it and get off becasue i dont want to stay on forever even for a year. i want to live a clean great productive helpful life. this methadone treatment has helped me in that i have never touched any of drugs anymore but has side effectts that are very bothersome, constipation is extremley horrible painful. never went through such pain. thanks in advance for any advice btw, how bad is xanax and how can u tell if your addicted to it?

In methadone treatment is it common to experience intense, scary dreams? the dreams are very vivid and frightening, but they arent user dreams. My counselor says it isnt a side effect of methadone, but many methadone websites say it can be. Any personal experience with this?

been on Lortab 10's for the duration..it started with taking 2 a day and has gradually built up to 5 6 a day...I still have pain and I feel like lortab has taken over my life even though I know my pain is real..I went to a pain mngmt clinic and he suggested that I take 10 mg methadone..he said I will feel like a normal person again and not have withdrawls from the lortab but the methadone will relieve the pain as well. He said methadone when taken correctly is VERY effective and is a VERY misunderstood drug. I am also having injections to see if they will help. I am already on antidepressants and high blood pressure meds but he said that is ok..Frankly just the name SCARES the hell out of me and I was wondering if anyone has had success with methadone treatment????
