went off meth and percocets cold turkey. back on percs (low dosage) now, but meth is gone for good. best wishes to anyone who stops. YOU can do it!!!

5 mg a day is actually much faster than what I have heard is a comfortable detox rate… 5 per week and even 1 per week when you are coming to the end are the detox rates I have been told to use to avoid withdrawal. I did 1 mg per day to go from 180 to 100mg … then had to freeze it. I now am trying to get from 100 to 0 and am very concerned about being able to make it.

@emilshere I’m on 40mg now. Was on 160mg for 11 years (got on it as a pregnant 19 year old). At first, I went down 5-10mg a week. When I hit 70mg, I stopped for a few months. Now I’m doing the 2mg a week thing. Feel free to message me anytime. I’m concerned about making it through this, too. Don’t mean to use a cliche here but knowing there are others struggling to become free really does help. Best wishes!

Rick, more videos/advice please! I was addicted to heroin until I was 19. Now I’m on methadone. Was on 160mg/day for 8 years & have been slowly tapering for the past three years. hoping that if I go slower, the post-acute withdrawal/readjustment period you speak of won’t be as severe. Am I being realistic? What do you think I should prepare for? I’m down to 40mg now. Also, I completely agree with the views you alluded to about the clinic system being (badly) broken. Thank you for providing hope!

@natas666971 I’m in a similar situation. I’ve been on methadone for 11 yrs & have Addison’s instead of lupus. I’ve done two 3-day inpatient detoxes back in the first few years I was on, but… yeah. Well, I’m fucked. I’m 31, been on and off opiates since 13 when I started stealing meds from anyone I could. I took the hydro and oxy for years, eventually shot dope on and off for a few years, was on 120 mg of methadone for almost a year, have an issue with benzo’s as well, now I’m on Suboxone and I’m about to just fucking kill myself because I am SO FUCKING TIRED OF FEELING LIKE SHIT ALL THE TIME! I can barely MOVE right now and all I did was take benzos for maybe 3 days…withdrawals already?
