If I take a oxycodone drug urine test to detect oxycodone only will a lortab show up on it? Or a methadone? Or if I take a methadone test will oxycodone or lortab show up on that one?

I am on methadone maintenance aka mmr and I have gallstones. I went to the ER twice and both times as soon as they found out I was on methadone, it was like I had a contagious terminal illness. I haven’t yet received the proper care and I am in terrible pain. I need something to take for pain. Can anyone help me with the names of medications that will help me until my appointment with the surgery clinic. I AM MISERABLE!!!!

I have heard several people say that they really need methadone for pain, because their doctors would not give them strong enough medicine for pain, so they had to “fake” addiction in order to get the medicine at the methadone clinics. Some say that they are still dependent, but they still need it for pain also.
I know all about methadone, so I am not really asking about it or comments on it. I know the reason people go to the clinics is to get off the more dangerous street drugs. I know some people were going to doctors and the doctors had them on opiate medication for a while, and then took them off, which I didn’t really understand why they put them on it to begin with, if they are just going to take them off. So they still need pain medicine and the only way to get it would be to go to the methadone clinic if they cannot find another doctor to keep them on it. So I have heard several say that although they were dependent, they still need the methadone for pain. So I was hoping maybe the ones that are in this situation would tell me. I know that methadone does not make a person high like the street drugs.
I was really wondering since I had heard some say that, and hoped maybe I would get answers from the methadone clients, but it’s okay if you want to give your opinions, as long as you know enough about it, and not just what someone tells you, because I have heard all kinds of different stories. I know that some doctors where I live, do not like to prescribe opiate pain medicine, and I can understand why, if the pain is not real bad, and isn’t an on-going condition. But what I am asking is do you, or do you know someone to whom the doctor was prescribing opiates for an on-going severe condition, and then cut them off for fear of dependency (which seems like it would be too late anyway after a month or so) and that person went to a methadone clinic and just said that they were dependent , which was probably true, but the main reason was that they needed something to ease the severe pain?

I am on methadone for chronic lower back pain. I had surgery in 98 and now may need another. Is there anyway to avoid surgery, and still take LESS MEDS?
I don’t want to go through another surgery, but I can’t stand the pain, and the meds seem to help less & less. I refused a higher dose recently because I am worried about addiction and the effects of taking too much medication. If I take more, It will be less effective AFTER surgery!
Anyone have a similar problem, and how did you handle it?

Now my question is this…How long will it take till hes completely detoxed, (hes been using for 4 yrs), and is there anything i can do to make him more comfortable, especially with the insomnia. I got the diahreaha under control, but he can NOT sleep.. he tried, excedrin pm, and some sleeping pills the hospital gave him, but they still dont work…any ideas? natural remedies or?

Hi my name is micky. I had a severe drinking problem and last November decided to go to rehab. After being in rehab for a few days I met a wonderful lady who was only going through the detox part of the time. When she left detox after one week, I remained in rehab and we started seeing each other. After leaving rehab I moved in with her. After about a month we started snorting oxycontin then six months later doing needles, just me and her. We finally ended up getting cotton fever, rushing to the hospital and then I found out that I had Hep C. Despite this, our drug use escalated. As we spent all our money and the withdrawals got worse and worse, I suggested we go on methadone. Being on methadone, I missed the oxy high and started mainlining crack, which I had experienced before. My girlfriend had never done crack and although I urged her not to, I understood how badly she wanted to get any kind of high possible. Now that we’ve been on methadone for three months, she has decided to go to treatment, which is taking more time than expected. She doesn’t want to stay with me anymore because the crack use is driving her insane. If it’s there she wants it, then is mad at herself for using again. I myself can use occasionally. I love her with all my heart and want the best for her but I also want her with or without the drug use. Is there an easy solution to this problem that doesn’t involve us breaking up or continuing to abuse drugs.

I have an appt. Mon(its Wed/night) to hopefully start w/ suboxone treatment. I have abused opiates for about 13 yrs. Been to rehab a couple of times to detox off of Oxy’s. Stayed clean a couple of months then right back on them. For the last 3 months, I have been strictly taking methadone(about 60 to 80 mgs/day). I reckon my question is… what should i tell my doctor? Should i stop using methadone tonight? i’ve read that you can’t start suboxone if you have methodone in your system. I was thinking maybe I could get by the next 4-5 days eating oxy’s again. Also, I need to know what kind of dosages I should tell him i’ve been taking b/c i’m worried to death that he isn’t going to start me out w/ a high enough dose to get me through my wd’s(spoken like a true addict). Lastly, It’s $750 for the first 3 days and then 125 a month after that. That’s alot of money I could spend on street methadone. IS IT WORTH IT?

My question is can I just go to any of the doctors that gave me pain meds and ask for methadone so I can get off the opiates and not have to deal with the withdrawl. How should I go about dealing wtih my addiction. I dont have the money for detox or a treatment place plus it isnt that bad of an addiction but I do know if i quit taking the pain meds I will go through withdrawls for a couple weeks. So how do I get methadone to get over this addiction. Do I need to go to a methadone clinic or can I just go to any random doctor and explain and are the odds good that I will get the methadone so I slowly get off the opiate addiction.

I am not a junkie so dont even insult me with responses relating or even implying this. I had a back disease for the past 6 years but is slowly getting better through treatment. My doctor that diagnosed me suffered a major heart attack and is unable to work anymore so I was forced to see random doctors to get my pain meds. Not a junkie,just was in pain
