About ayear ago i found out my husband is hooked on drugs (pain killers and a couple times herion) He went on a methadone drug treament program to try and get off of drugs (thats how i found out. I found his methadone bottle) He said he went on it to get off of drugs and planned on getting off of that before the family found out. but hes still on it a year later plus he hooked on cocaine.hes trying to get into this one detox rehab but they wont take him till he goes about half ways lower on his methadone(wich will take about 3months)were always aruging .we been together 4years and have a 22month old I love him but dont know what to do anymore im just so stressed. Im always worried when he goes out that he might overdose and die. hes gone to a coulpe consuling meetings but never keeps up with it .what should i do?

I have been married four almost 8 yrs i never thought that things would get so bad . i havent been the best wife i never did what a wife is supposed to do him on the other hand did his part when he was here . i say it like that because when i was 6 months pregnant with our son he was incarcerated for a total of almost 2 yrs . i was left alone to care for our son with the help of my mom i was able to do so iwill admit that i to needed help i was aheroin addict the day my son was born i was given a chance to keep him and i did what i had to ,to do so i got on a methadone program and stabalized my addiction then when was released he started out fine it was like a dream then reality set in and i found out he was using again before i knew it he went back to jail for 9 months this time got out did okay for a while then back for two years he finally it all over with.we split up 2 wks ago idont want to live without him but iknow ive lost him. .

I am married to an addict. We have been through the iraq war, and many other deployments. He is not addicted to a plathora of drugs and has been stealing from our family and friends. He is in a drug treatment facility but does not seem like he is up for the help. He is trying to get on the methadone program and talking about how he COULD get drugs up there if he wanted. What do I do? We have 2 kids 8, and 20 months.

I have been married to my husband for 5 years and with him for 6. He is an iraqi war vetaran and also a very serious drug addict. In the past couple of months he has stolen from his best friend, mother, my parents, my cousin, his best friend since childhood, and even got arrested for possession of stolen property after trying to pawn some of those items. He is currently in a treatment facility (since the last week) and will be there for 45 days. The only problem is that he doesnt seem like he is serious and automatically wants to get on the methadone program without first trying the program without drugs. I do not feel in my heart that he is really serious about treatment. Do I stick by him and see if he is really serious with the risk of losing my sanity? I am a full time student and there is no income coming in the home. Or do I leave him? We have 2 children 1.5 years and 8 years old. Please help!

how can I help him through the next weeks, month? He wants to be clean, and is miserable going through it in front of me- but I just want him well. What can be done to ease this process- cause it is terrible for him even though he is weaning off the drug slowly? He doesn’t sleep, is grouchy, jumpy, has leg cramps, emotional, can’t stand noise, etc…
